A Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) is a contract that governs the transfer of tangible research materials between two organizations, when the recipient intends to use it for his or her own research purposes. The MTA defines the rights of the provider and the recipient with respect to the materials and any derivatives.
This MTA outlines the rights of the strain owner / depositor and what the APB may and may not do with the strain.
Any third party interested in using the strain will need permission from the strain owner unless the owner waives this right. For all strains governed by an MTA, the APB will not distribute until the owner approves.
Please print and complete two originals of the MTA. The MTA must be signed by an Institutional appointed executive. Mail the signed MTAs to the Curator (see address below). The Curator will arrange the signing by The ANU executive and return one copy to you for your records.
